Muhammed Majeed, Ph. D.
Dr. Muhammed Majeed obtained his doctorate in Industrial Pharmacy from St.John's University in New York . He went on to gain 15 years of valuable experience in pharmaceutical research. Inspired by the ancient Indian system of botanical medicine, popularly called Ayurveda, he ventured out on his own in the field of Herbal extracts and Fine Chemicals. The initial setbacks he encountered while establishing Sabinsa did not deter him from turning Sabinsa as a forerunner in herbal extracts and neutraceuticals as a serious alternative to regular medicine. Born and brought up in Kerala, Dr. Majeed graduated in pharmacy from Kerala University in 1974. He immigrated to the US in 1975 where he worked with leading pharmaceutical research companies, simultaneously pursuing higher studies also. In 1988, Dr. Majeed set up SABINSA Corporation in New Jersey a research oriented pharmaceutical & nutraceutical company, which has emerged as a $30 million company , marketing nutraceuticals in the US market.
John Tilyard
John Tilyard, as the CEO of Sabinsa Australia Pty Ltd will be responsible to build a strong business base in Australia and New Zealand. John, prior to joining Sabinsa Australia has had a wide ranging career in the multinational health care industry. He has held directorships and CEO Country Manager (Australasia) roles in the Hoechst Roussel Group (Aventis) covering pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, agrovet, cosmetics and fragrances. More recently John has spent time at general management level in the legal profession where he was responsible for the day to day operation of a mid size Sydney city law firm with a particular focus on profit enhancement and the introduction of quality processes. For the past seven years he has worked for a subsidiary of Nufarm Limited in the biotechnology industry promoting new technology in Asia and particularly China where he established and was responsible for a representative office and Chinese company structure. His responsibilities also included exploring business opportunities in Latin America . For a period of time his brief included responsibility at GM level for the bedding down of an Australian transgenic horticulture R&D company acquisition.
P N Venugopalan
P N Venugopalan has an impressive working experience of 40 years. He started off his career at the age of 19 as a Medical Representative in Schering, where he went on to become the Assistant Sales Manager and left the company as the Divisional Manager. Venugopalan has also worked as Director for over a decade in Hoechst Marion Roussel Ltd, AgrEvo India Ltd, Optrex India Ltd, UB Pharma ( Kenya ) Ltd, and UB Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Besides he has involved in the overwhelming growth of Carews Pharmaceuticals Ltd and Dominion Chemical Industries Ltd.
